Senior Tooling Engineer I

As our Tooling Engineer, you will support the daily work of our in-house Tooling Group. You will help lead the processing strategies for 5 axis machined components. You will be responsible for projects focused on improving operation and efficiency of tooling fabrication processes; focusing on adding new capabilities to the tooling shop. You will coordinate implementation of software and control upgrades, and be a technical resource for tooling shop employees. You will have a thirst for continuously looking for cutting-edge technologies in shop tools, software, and techniques, and bring them in for testing and implementation. You’ll be integral to developing and executing long range plans for our Tooling Organization.  In addition, you will assist in utilizing Lean Manufacturing methods to minimize waste and maximize efficiencies.

Requirements for the position include:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or other manufacturing-related degree plus 5 years related experience or
• Associate’s degree in related field plus 7 years related experience 
• Strong Knowledge and experience in manufacturing injection molds
• Experience with SolidWorks and CAM software
• Experience in programming and operating 5-axis CNC machines
• Ability to work with associates of all levels including managers, engineers, machinists, and machine operators
• Proven project management and documentation skills

Preferred additional qualifications:

• Experience in optimizing CNC programming through standardization and/or writing macros
• Experience with CAMplete software
• Experience in troubleshooting and optimizing CNC postprocessors
• Experience in implementing LEAN Manufacturing or similar principles and practices in a Machine Shop setting
