Construction Escort reports directly to the Construction Project Manager in providing Building Owner escort services of General Contractor, subcontractor and other required personnel for a construction contract. The Construction escort is responsible for escorting personnel into and around a complex renovation project. The escort must maintain constant visual contact with each worker within the construction area. Escort cannot leave any contract personnel unattended in the building for any reason. Conditions are typical of a construction site. Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Performing this job requires the ability to stand for long periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to overhead operations; welding; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate. This is a standing and walking position and will require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE): steel toe shoes, hard hat, eye and ear protection and safety vest. Adhere to established project safety and security requirements at all times. Operate the equipment lift for the contractors. Perform other duties and take on other responsibilities as required. Included but not limited to traffic direction, emergency response and cleaning. Candidate will be expected to work flexible hours, including shifts. The hours will vary based on the needs of the construction schedule.
The site hours of operation are expected to be Monday through Friday 10 hours per day but may involve additional evenings and weekends. There is no relocation associated with this position. This is a temporary position, expecting to last up to 24 months.
Must be a high school graduate with strong English oral and written communication skills. 2 years experience in Construction – preferred. Basic knowledge of building codes and regulations including Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA. – preferred. First Aid, CPR and Job safety. Be a motivated, highly dependable individual with limited oversight
Must be a US Citizen and possess or be eligible for DoD TS Clearance
