SUMMARY:
Store Managers are responsible for maximizing sales, providing a great shopping experience for the customer and applying individual judgment in managing the store’s visual and operational standards. The Store Manager is responsible for recruiting, staffing, training and developing high performance teams.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sales Leadership
• Creates an outstanding sales and customer service environment
• Strives to meet and exceed store goals, ensures selling standards are met
• Sets and evaluates weekly, monthly and seasonal goals for staff
• Works with customers and models excellent customer service skills and floor supervision skills
• Assesses store morale, monitor and praise positive associate performance, address performance issues promptly, and document as necessary
• Understands, supports and complies with all company policies and procedures
Staffing and Associate Development
• Networks in industry to recruit and hire high quality management and sales-oriented Associates
• Train and develop store employees
• Ensures adequate staff is available to meet business needs – schedules accordingly
• Follows company criteria for properly hiring, reviewing, coaching and promoting Sales Associates, Assistant Managers and Co-Managers
• Administers company employee programs including appropriate performance reviews, and other employment related matters
• Ensures Associates are trained on product knowledge, selling skills, customer service, and other company systems (POS, Time and Attendance, etc.)
• Documents employee performance in a timely manner
• Creates enthusiasm and excitement within store to motivate high performance teams
Operations Excellence
• Protects store payroll by adhering to wage cost guidelines and allowable hours
• Control company assets and promote shrink awareness through key control, loss prevention measures, inventory results and company standards of conduct
• Strives for 100% accuracy and compliance in: cash, inventory, fixtures and property
Store Standards
• Executes floor-set and promotional directives; implements visual merchandising
• Supervises the overall cleanliness and organization of the sales floor and backroom
• Ensures store appearance and atmosphere represent the company brands
• Minimum of two years retail Store Management position / experience in apparel (or related field)
• Knowledge of applicable Wage & Hour laws
• Ability to work flexible schedule including nights and weekends
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
• High School graduate or equivalent
