The employee will become part of the Purdy maintenance team.  Purdy manufactures professional painting tools of the highest quality. This position will be responsible for ensuring that electrical components of the Purdy facility are properly installed and maintained for all operations. 

• Independently trouble shoot, diagnose, repair and make program changes to programmable logic controllers.
• Read and interpret ladder logic diagrams.
• Read blueprints and wiring diagrams and create/update electrical schematics/diagrams as required.
• Independently trouble shoot, diagnose, repair and install 480 volt/277, 240/120 and AC DC volt circuits, motor controls, control logic, and power wiring.
• Make new major installations and repairs as well as perform general maintenance and repairs.
• Use necessary tools and instruments in a safe manner to independently perform tasks.
• On line maintenance /repairs to production equipment.
• Obtaining parts from storeroom.
• Perform routine or related duties assigned by Plant Manager, Engineer Manger and Maintenance Manager.
• Must know and follow safety instructions and maintain housekeeping procedures.
• Checks and refills lubricant reservoirs, applies grease to lubricant points, inspects machinery while performing scheduled preventative maintenance
• Operate shop tools, equipment, and as many machines related to maintenance as skill level will permit
• Able to make some mechanical repairs and adjustments to machinery and assist in dismantling all or parts of machinery to repair or replace defective components
• Assists in pipe fitting tasks and able to perform some installation tasks unassisted
• Maintains and services a range of building equipment such as HVAC, lighting, water and sewer, etc.
• Assists other departments as needed
• Maintains production equipment in good operating condition while optimizing equipment uptime to insure the safe and timely manufacture of quality paint brushes.
• Improve reliability and operating efficiency of plant equipment.
• Conduct preventive maintenance tasks in a timely manner to insure operation of all equipment, in an efficient and safe manner.
• Support site housekeeping and safety programs, maintaining a work place that is clean and safe.
• Participation towards completion of other related tasks and duties as directed or needed
• Regularly suggests ideas for new PM schedules in order to improve the reliability of plant machinery.


Basic Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must have the legal right to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship now or in the future for employment visa status
Must have a HS diploma or GED
Must be a certified Electrician in the State of Oregon
Must have at least 1 year of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment


Preferred Qualifications:
Two or more years of maintenance experience working in a manufacturing environment
Post secondary or technical degree
