Global Supply Chain IT Operations Manager

The Global Supply Chain IT Operations Manager manages the Supply Chain IT Operations teams located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia , Mexico City, Mexico and Manchester, England.  The role ensures continuity between the Global Supply Chain IT application and support teams located in Cleveland with the global supply chain systems support personnel at the regional service centers.  The Global Supply Chain IT Operations Manager also aligns key projects requiring focused analytical attention with the remaining global supply chain IT support and service center teams.

 

The Global Supply Chain IT Operations Manager also manages the Cleveland HQ based Supply Chain Service Support team.  This team is built to provide tier 2 support as well as work with Oracle to solve help desk cases as well as complete smaller scale projects.

 

The Global Supply Chain IT Operations Manager exists to ensure that local Global Supply Chain IT and Regional global supply chain service center personnel are aligned to achieve the following key principles:

  • Ensure support and projects are aligned with the strategies outlined from management.
  • Provide operational guidelines to insure caseloads and projects are completed within the appropriate framework.
  • Provide operational guidance to local and remote supply chain service center teams.
  • Ensure alignment with other global service center operational teams.

The Global Supply Chain IT Operations Manager is responsible for the execution of key supply chain initiatives as well as supply chain support organizations throughout the globe.  The Global Supply Chain IT Operations Manager will provide guidance and direction to business analysts managing key supply chain projects globally.  The Global Supply Chain IT Operations Manager will also be responsible for the coordination of strategic efforts from the global service center supply chain operations and our headquarters supply chain support organization.  The Global Supply Chain IT Operations Manager will develop and implement support performance measurement metrics as well as project financial and performance health metrics.

 

The Global Supply Chain IT Operations Manager will work closely with the supply chain application leaders, other IT operational organizations as well as key business leaders within the global supply chain organization to ensure alignment of support resources and key projects. The Global Supply Chain IT Operations Manager will be responsible for development long term strategic plans for the implementation and support of key processes defined within the IT operational roles.

 

Essential Functions

 
Strategy and Planning
  • Partner with business unit leadership regarding risks, objectives and process improvements.
  • Review and analyze existing control effectiveness and develop strategies for improving or leveraging new business requirements.
  • Oversee detailed research of vendor products and assists with general project management.
  • Provide direction, development, and implementation of software solutions.
  • Participate in quarterly planning sessions to ensure alignment of resources and IT strategy.
  • Actively engage business management to ensure business needs and expectations are met.
  • Develop wants/needs for the annual budgeting process in projects, operations and support.
  • Determine staffing and skills requirements.

Acquisition and Deployment

  • Assist the business and applications teams in alignment of key projects.
  • Assist in the evaluation of project requirements and project scoping.
  • Set goals and objectives for support activities within the global service centers.
  • Insure global supply chain service center resources are properly staffed.
  • Balance the global service center workloads.
  • Create measureable goals and metrics for projects and service center personnel.

Operational Management

  • Ensure that Global Supply Chain IT Service Center personnel are organizationally aligned with key roles and responsibilities of the department.
  • Develop management dashboards to ensure tasks are completed timely and effectively.
  • Work with Global Service Center personnel to insure alignment with complimentary projects.
  • Lead the teams on various improvements such as schedule coordinate and manage Oracle Supply Chain System upgrades.
  • Develop solutions to leverage GSC IT application functionality for the E-Business Suite and other supported applications and suggest improvements.
  • Communicate effectively, improve relationships, and manage customers cross functionally.
  • Participate in global steering committees, preparing and presenting to global control leadership for the company.
  • Ensure timely remediation of global supply chain system issues.
  • Manage team organizational structure with team vision, goals, and defined roles and responsibilities.
  • Develop and structure a highly effective team focused on quality, timeliness, and accuracy.
  • Create and maintain development plans for each team member, including training, skills assessment, career planning, and goal planning.
  • Manage, develop and mentor subordinates toward the building of a strong team.
  • Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel.

Incidental Functions

  • Prepare and lead presentations as requested.
  • Research or prototype new tools and/or technologies.
  • Lead internal teams/task forces on initiatives as assigned.
  • Assist with other projects as necessary to contribute to efficiency and effectiveness of the work.

  • Up to 25% travel as required (domestic and international).
  • Work outside the standard office 7.5 hour workday as required.
Position Requirements
 

Formal Education & Certification

  • Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent experience.
Knowledge & Experience
  • 14 years experience (Global Supply Chain Systems, Oracle ERP and/or IT)
  • 8 years management; a combination of staff, budgets and company assets.
  • 4 years implementing and/or supporting ERP or similar type software solutions (preferred).
  • Strong experience in project management and system architecture methodologies (preferred)
  • Experience analyzing functional system requirements and designing and developing solutions that fulfill business requirements.
  • Well versed in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated skill in preparation and maintenance of documentation.
  • Demonstrated skill with presentation and communication tools such as MS PowerPoint, Visio, etc.
