Senior Integration Engineer

The Sr. Integration Engineer role on the Client Integration Team is to lead efforts to empower the global organization at Sherwin-Williams with client infrastructure technology and solutions, while ensuring focus is kept on security, client experience, and fiscal responsibility.

 

The role of this individual is to participate in the architecture and active management of the design, development, and implementation of client infrastructure, specifically the client security configuration of these services.  The incumbent will also lead efforts of problem resolution and prevention through root cause analysis and planning and/or executing project solutions. Substantial experience in large-scale, global environments including hands-on experience and expertise with client configurations required.  Proven track record successfully implementing large client initiatives including deployment, upgrades and associated efforts preferred.  This role’s primary focus will be on the design, implementation, and administration of client security initiatives with a focus on global Browser/Java initiatives.


Essential Functions

Strategy & Planning

  • Engage in the planning, design, development of infrastructure improvements with focus on simplification and optimization of processes.
  • Develop and promote strategic plans for integrating new client technology into the existing Global IT infrastructure.
  • Meet with clients, peers, and decision makers to define business requirements/system goals, and to identify and resolve business systems issues.
  • Analyze existing infrastructure systems to identify service improvement opportunities and make recommendations to management.
  • Serve on project teams as a Senior Integration Engineer and be responsible for providing client infrastructure expertise.

Acquisition & Deployment

  • Lead research and analysis efforts around emerging client desktop technologies.
  • Manage and/or contribute to the efforts required to integrate newly acquired sites.
  • Manage, administer, and optimize the ongoing deployment(s) of system image configurations.
Operational Management
  • Lead efforts to globally unify and influence client infrastructure strategy and solutions.
  • Manage and contribute to the following functions that are performed through both 3rd party products and internally developed processes.
    • Application packaging and deployment
    • System imaging and deployment
    • Patch management and deployment
    • Printer management and deployment
    • Group Policy management and deployment
  • Approve documented administrative processes and procedures relative to net new or updated solutions developed by the Client Integration Team.
  • Act as an escalation point for Global Support Services client support requests.
  • Engage and provide research related to hardware, software and business solutions; e.g., emerging client desktop technologies.
  • Participate in capacity planning and performance management activities.
  • Prioritize and perform routine tasks (support related to application packaging, system imaging and deployment.)
  • Measure and report on services rendered, solutions delivered and problems resolved (tracking and reporting activities, accomplishments and recommendations.)
  • Provide expertise in developing technical solutions to business problems.
  • Provides mentoring, guidance, and professional development support to others members of the Client Integration Team.
Incidental Functions
  • Manage enterprise projects through the entire process lifecycle--design, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Provide advice and consultation to team members and support personnel in all divisions as needed pertaining to desktop image/software configurations, issues and problem resolution
  • Assist with Change Management preparations and implementations.
  • Assist with other projects as may be required to contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the group.

  • Global Travel 10-15%
  • Work outside the standard office 7.5 hour workday as required.
Position Requirements
 

Formal Education & Certification

  • Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • CISSP or Microsoft certification preferred

Knowledge & Experience

  • 5 years IT experience.
  • 5 years experience in client infrastructure
  • 5 years experience in customer service related work.
  • 5 years of direct hands-on experience with client systems with LANDesk or MS Configuration Manager Systems Center.
  • Advanced experience with managing and securing enterprise browser configurations (IE, Chrome, Firefox, Safari)
  • Advanced experience with managing and supporting Java Runtime clients in an enterprise environment.
  • Advanced technical knowledge and hands-on expertise with the architecture, administration, and troubleshooting of client software/hardware, including MS Windows and MAC OS, IE/Chrome/Firefox Browsers, and MS Office.
  • Proficient technical knowledge and hands-on expertise with client security software (endpoint encryption, DLP, firewalls, VSE)
  • Advanced skills in diagnosing complex system problems and design/implementation of solutions.
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy computer and user policy configurations preferred.
  • Working knowledge of virtualization and cloud technologies highly desired.
  • Working knowledge of scripting technologies and components highly desired.(PowerShell, VBScript)
  • Experience with monitoring of ticketing system, prioritizing problems, supporting projects, and supporting enterprise level infrastructure
