The Continuous Improvement Project Manager uses continuous improvement methodology to implement strategic business solutions that provide Sherwin Williams a competitive advantage.
In this role you would:
i. Lead divisional improvement projects and programs across multiple divisions and geographies.
ii. Ensure project tracking dashboard is maintained and results are communicated in a timely manner.
iii. Responsible for Communication of Continuous Improvement information / news is shared via appropriate means, such as a website, etc.
Apply advanced statistical techniques, DOE, Gage R&R, etc., to the evaluation and resolution of technical problems. Support, develop, and enhance DFSS and Six Sigma methodology and training materials as related to design processes and improvement initiatives.
Influence organization - initiate and drive change. Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement mindset.
Direct: Continuous Improvement Savings, Resource Utilization, Project / Study Turn Time, and Projects Complete for Global Finishes Group.
Indirect: Six Sigma Project Savings, Formula 1 Savings, and Quality Investigations
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
i. Complete continuous improvement projects (Design for Six Sigma, Six Sigma, Lean, Root Cause) that deliver results for Sherwin Williams
ii. Facilitate training on continuous improvement tools throughout Sherwin Williams
iii. Develop new methods or processes
iv. Lead division level projects and act as a project manager as needed
v. Mentor Green Belts on Design for Six Sigma and Six Sigma methodologies
vi. Execute lab services and inventory management for GFG R&D Teams through subordinates activities
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES/CAPABILITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS.
i. Must be able to stand, sit, hear, and see on a constant basis
ii. Must be able to walk, write, and type on a frequent basis
iii. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds maximum, bend, carry, reach, push, pull, on an occasional basis
iv. Must be able to frequently use the phone, calculator, and keyboard
v. Sitting required 75% of the time, mobility required 50% of the
INCIDENTAL FUNCTIONS.
i. Generate and communicate reports and data to support ongoing projects and programs
ii. Participation in organization and implementation of department and site events
iii. Train and mentor in Design for Six Sigma, Six Sigma, Lean, Accelerated Root Cause (ARC), and Statistics

i. Implement strategic business programs and solutions with limited authority

iii. Possess advance level of statistics understanding and application to solve complex problems

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
FORMAL EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree required
Green Belt Training Completed
KNOWLEDGE & EXERIENCE:
Strong problem and analytical solving skills
Strong communication/presentation skills
Preferred Technical Experience in Formulation of Paint
Understanding of DMAIC, ARC, and Lean
5 years business/operations/technical experience
Project execution
Preferred Proficient with Minitab software
Preferred Training Experience
