Position
Summary
The
IDC Technician is a hands-on role working in the Abercrombie & Fitch
Innovation Design Center. The main function of this position is to collaborate
with the R&D team in the development of new screen printing and embroidery
techniques and processes. The IDC Technician has a creative background and an
interest in developing new processes and perfecting current techniques. Under
the supervision of the IDC Manager, this position will work with
cross-functional partners within the company and be a part of developing new
fashion techniques for all Abercrombie & Fitch brands.
Responsibilities
Under
the supervision of the IDC Manager:
- Develop new techniques and processes for
screen printing and embroidery
- Improve current techniques and processes
used in the IDC
- Utilize screen printing and embroidery
machines and techniques
- Create training documents and
presentation boards
- Interact with R&D Director regularly
- Meet seasonally with Graphics, Design,
and Merchandising teams to discuss new concepts
Qualifications
- BS/BA in Graphic Design or related field
of study
- 1-3 years of experience working in Screen Printing, Graphic Design, or
related field preferred
- Ability to operate screen print and
embroidery equipment and perform all support functions of screen print and
embroidery operation
- Understanding of support functions of
screen print and embroidery operations, including inks, screens, threads,
needles, etc.
- Working Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator
and Adobe Photoshop
- Ability to work collaboratively and
communicate openly with cross-functional business partners and senior
leaders in the organization
- Highly resilient and can work well in an in a high-energy, fast-paced
environment
marked by change and rigorous time lines
- Creative approach to problem solving with a humble, team-oriented and optimistic attitude
- Possesses a high level of intellectual curiosity
