PURPOSE | |

Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service. Authorize and enable customers to purchase gasoline and other merchandise and accept payment. Ensuring the sales floor, cooler, and pumping areas are clean, sanitary, and full. Deals with spills and customer service problems as they arise. | |

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS: | |
|
• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store.• Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner. • Genuinely thanks each customer and invites them back. • Assists customers by: (examples include) o escorting them to the products they’re looking foro securing products that are out of reacho loading or unloading heavy itemso making note of and passing along customer suggestions or requestso performing other tasks in every way possible to enhance the shopping experience.• Answers the department telephone promptly when called upon, and provides friendly, helpful service to customers who call. • Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment. • Assists customers with gasoline purchases via computer screen or intercom. • Prompt clean up of any gasoline spills and disposal in the appropriate area. • Knows appropriate action program in case of larger fuel problems or fire. • Understands and follows local, state, and company policies on sales of tobacco and liquor. • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines regarding WIC and food stamps. • Required to know value, look-up numbers, department numbers, and features of items for which money is received. • Checks invoices against delivered gasoline. • Follows and maintains all Federal, State, and Local regulations in regards to fuel storage, dispensing, and monitoring equipment. • Cleans all utensils, equipment, merchandising tables and cases, food preparation surfaces, floors, doors, walls and bathrooms according to sanitation schedule and standards. • Maintains premises, including shoveling snow, salting walkways, sweeping, mopping, and maintaining landscaping as directed. • Stocks, faces and rotates merchandise, cleans shelves, understands shelf tags, knows location of merchandise in the convenience center, and if available, takes customers to an item. • Perceives immediate surroundings for customer needs and problems for store safety and security. • Communicates clearly and distinctly on the intercom or telephone system. • Operates cash register accurately and scans all products. • Select locations will require following all policies and procedures related to an automatic car wash. • Updates price changes as needed on shelves, displays, pumps, and outdoor signage. • Maintains strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress. | |
