As our Director of Merchandising Strategy, you will play a central role in helping the Company build upon its rich history of understanding consumer needs to create the right product mix for marketplaces around the world. You will partner with the VP of Merchandising to develop, communicate and execute strategic plans that drive the key Merchandising priorities. You'll independently lead cross-functional teams to identify and evaluate critical strategic priorities and/or opportunities, and to catalyze action against these priorities across the business.
Doing all this requires a unique individual. You must be a self-starter, flexible thinker and outstanding communicator, as well as comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and influencing different personalities and perspectives. You will need those skills as you work not only across global and geography teams but also across multiple functions, living at the heart of Nike’s matrixed organization. Success will depend on your ability to quickly form both professional and personal relationships with colleagues and drive rigorous, well-communicated deliverables.
Requirements for the position include:
Bachelor's degree
MBA or advanced degree is preferred and at least 7 years total experience (3 years experience post MBA) in corporate strategic planning, management consulting, or related fields
2 additional years' experience in lieu of an advanced degree
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and provide project management support
Passion for product and sport
Experience with analysis of product, classifications, market/competitors, consumers and channels of distribution a plus
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Superior interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at once
