Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Distribution, the Director, Human Resources is responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to ensure that sound Human Resources practices, compliant with State and Federal laws, are followed and adhered to at the distribution/ warehouse facilities. Additionally, this position is responsible for examining existing human resources and safety practices and making recommendations to support management to improve selection, retention, associate performance and productivity.
Roles and Responsibilities
· Oversight-Provide oversight and give direction regarding all HR matters regarding company structure and policy and provide advise on all related HR decisions
· Feedback-Serve as a mentor to HR staff and provide support via consistent communication about all current issues
· Issues Management-Analyze and assess HR matters occurring on all shifts that impact business outcomes, either positively or negatively; serve as the communications hub between the distribution warehouse facilities and home office by escalating matters appropriately to Vice President of Human Resources
· Strategy- Develop HR strategies including project plans to be implemented by HR staff to further HR administration and practices in AWBC facilities
· Reporting-Utilize HR reporting to review activities and devise appropriate actions to support the facilities in achieving standards and results
· Employee Relations-in partnership with AWBC HR Director, ensure that all investigations are conducted appropriately and in a timely manner. Refer issues to VP of HR as needed for resolution
· Safety- Provide oversight to HR Director and Safety Manager to ensure that all OSHA safety requirements are in place and adhered to
Qualifications and Education Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business or similar discipline required
· MBA preferred
· PHR/SPHR /SHRM-CP or SPC preferred
· 10 or more years of senior level human resources experience, preferably in a Distribution/Warehouse setting
