JOB SUMMARY
The Book Manager manages the day to day operation of Second & Charles stores as a Manager On Duty in conjunction with the management team members to maximize sales and customer service, and oversees the execution of inventory purchasing.
RESPONSIBILITIES
*Responsible for the efficient operation of the Book areas of the store including customer service, sales, developing product expertise, shelving, organizing, merchandising/features, markdowns, look and feel of overall area.
*Advises GM on area needs including any specific product order needs
*Trains and develops associates, specialists and managers
*Ensures consistent standards and training for determining book conditions and purchase prices.
*Reviews buying reports for all buyers to ensure compliance with Second & Charles policies and standards.
*Monitor process times for book buying. Ensure that process is operating most efficiently at all times.
*Communicate supply needs to General Manager weekly.
REQUIREMENTS
*21 years of age or older
*Positive background check
*Strong customer service skills
*Experience in buying and judging product
*Demonstrated and continued adherence to all the Second & Charles Policies and Procedures, including the Code of Conduct and Customer Service Policy.
*Demonstrated ability to act in a mature and a conscientious manner.
*Recommended Management Assessment score (for new hires and promoted associates only)
*Follow the Manager Rotation schedule
*Attend one District Meeting each year
