Scope and Responsibilities

• As an Engineering Director, you will:
• You will build and lead the engineering team responsible for architecting and developing an API enabled service oriented cloud native platform on AWS
• Ensure solutions are designed and developed using a scalable, highly resilient cloud native architecture
• Lead building services and experiences to bring a new Nike capability in the area of Rendering, Imagery & Asset management to the next level
• Ensuring product and technical features are delivered to spec and on-time
• Lead development of tools and frameworks to improve security, reliability, maintainability, availability and performance for the technology foundation of our platform
• Explaining designs and constraints to stakeholders and technical teams
• Mentor team members

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelors' degree in Computer Science or a related field; 2 years additional relevant professional experience accepted in lieu of a degree
• 10 years using Enterprise Java in highly distributed systems with high transaction volume
• 5 years’ experience in building cloud-based enterprise systems, specifically AWS
• 5 years’ experience in NoSQL datastore systems building highly scalable solutions
• 3 years’ experience in building event driven applications
• Expertise in test driven development 
• Experience working in a highly agile product development methodology (Scrum)
• Knowledge of graph databases like Neo4J
• Expertise in Search oriented data stores like Elasticsearch
• Expertise in Caching technologies at all levels including content distribution networks
• Proven understanding of Micro Services
• Experience with Domain Driven Design
• 3 years of direct experience with hierarchical and distributed code repository management tools like GIT and Mercurial
• Enterprise expertise in other modern enterprise languages (functional or other)
• Demonstrated negotiation and influencing skills
• Proven track record of Mentoring other engineers and architects
• Experience with leading projects in a highly collaborative, multi-discipline development team environment
