Admission Nurse

The Admission Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing the health status of individuals being admitted to the hospital, establishing nursing diagnoses, prescribing nursing interventions, and implementing the plan of care.  The Admission Registered Nurse delegates those interventions which may be performed by others, supervises as appropriate, assists in maintaining a safe environment for the rendering of effective nursing care, provides education to patients, families and health professionals and collaborates with other health professionals in the planning and management of health care. 

Qualifications include a minimum of two years Med-Surg nursing experience and proven and sustained patient assessment skills and documentation skills.  Moderate to advance computer skills.  Registered Nurse currently licensed by the State of Vermont.  Current BLS healthcare provider status.  Post hire requirement:  BMH IV certification.
