Duties: Engineer footwear product deliverables. Identify/alleviate potential manufacturing, efficiency, and costing concerns during product development. Provide design, material choices, and tooling solution and product construction input to Product Creation Teams. Lead offshore Development Manufacturing and cross functional teams to identify and leverage potential manufacturing efficiencies, address manufacturing concerns, and improve engineering and manufacturing processes. Provide engineering expertise and mentor team members on best practices, manufacturing design processes, and adherence to environmental guidelines. Lead engineering design process to level of "proven and tested" for sample confirmation. Manage production to ensure products meet consumer expectations from technical/engineering perspective and are consistent in materials, construction, and production techniques. Facilitate new technology development, working with developers to make engineering recommendations for new products, materials, and technologies to ensure feasibility and on-time production tests. Up to 20% travel, including international may be required.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, Industrial Design or a related field (foreign equivalent accepted).

Experience: 8 years' progressive, post-Bachelor's experience as a Lead Product Engineer, Product Engineer, Lead Tooling Engineer, Tooling Engineer, Mold Manager, Mold Assistant Manager, or similar position.
Skills/Requirements:

8 years' experience with:
  1. Athletic performance footwear engineering and manufacturing, including utilizing pattern-making, tooling design, and chemical processes
  2. Footwear development and manufacturing, including leading cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and improve existing development, engineering, and manufacturing processes
  3. Developing and implementing new materials, manufacturing technologies/techniques, and production processes for athletic footwear, analyzing technical performance of athletic materials, and standardizing quality and materials requirements
  4. Working with U.S.-based teams and foreign manufacturing facilities to drive engineering recommendations for seasonal projects
  5. Participating in development of manufacturing sourcing strategies, leading technical creation process to deliver against product and quality standards, and making early technical recommendations on construction techniques and tooling solutions
  6. Working with Costing, Development, Engineering and Manufacturing teams to identify and leverage potential manufacturing efficiencies to reduce cost
  7. Reading, interpreting and implementing (a) technical documentation, including 2-D and 3-D CAD drawings, and (b) manufacturing best practices
  8. Mentoring and training employees on product engineering processes and manufacturing procedures
