We’re the conduit to the NFL, MLB, NBA, U.S. Olympic Committee, NCAA, College Football Playoff, and our top Colleges and Bowl Games to ensure we have the rights to use these logos on our retail product, get our innovative product designs approved, and comply with all contractual obligations.
As the Licensing Contracts & Operations Manager on the Nike Sports Licensing team (not the Legal team), you’ll be responsible for the overall administration of these retail rights and obligations in support of our College licensed business. You’ll advise and collaborate with Licensing and Business leadership on complex contract negotiations, work with Nike attorneys to draft contract language and assess risk, vet compliance to obligations with cross-functional partners, and shepherd the retail license agreements through to completion. You’ll work closely with numerous stakeholders across the vast Nike matrix including, but not limited to, Product Management, Development, Business, Merchandising, Sales, Finance, Sports Marketing, Brand Jordan, Nike Golf, Sustainable Manufacturing & Sourcing, Corporate Communications, and Sustainable Business & Innovation to communicate the rights and obligations in these agreements and ensure we are leveraging and fulfilling them. You’ll serve as the liaison to contract administration leadership within the collegiate licensing agencies who represent many of our schools, bowls, the CFP, and the NCAA, as well as with our collegiate Nike Licensee, Branded Custom Sportswear. You’ll use your creative problem solving and consensus building skills to collaborate on solutions to evolving contractual obligations with many of these internal and external partners. You’ll manage a Licensing Operations Associate and the organization of all contractual information into a customized collegiate database that generates contract summaries and reports based on business needs. Additionally, you’ll lead all operational planning for a college partnership summit at Nike World Headquarters focused on labor innovation and sustainability.
• Bachelor’s degree. Paralegal or JD degree is a plus.
• At least 5 years of experience in contract administration or contract negotiation.
• At least 2 years of people management experience.
• Experience working in the licensing industry or licensed sports business is a plus.
• Highly proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat XI Pro. Microsoft Office 365 SharePoint is a plus.
