Digital Product Creation (DPC) fuels product innovation and craft by leveraging the power of modern technologies, skillsets and tools. We are seeking a 3D Footwear Designer. In this role, you will utilize advanced digital skills to create innovative concepts and designs that reflect Nike’s design philosophy. You'll provide industry-leading visualization, 3D simulation, modeling, rendering and digital presentation in partnership with design and product-creation counterparts. This position is perfect for someone with deep expertise in 3D and the ambition to change the future of design within product creation. Working with a diverse and talented team, you'll gain in-depth knowledge of the Nike product-creation process. You'll partner with colleagues to set project, team, and individual priorities that will enhance the digital creation process from concept to marketplace. Additionally, you will develop, manage and implement short- and long-term strategy goals critical to digital evolution across design, development, engineering and product management. That’s where you come in. Who We’re Looking For: First and foremost, you are passionate about product creation and 3D capabilities. You have notable experience with CG techniques and emerging technologies, as well as knowledge of product-creation processes. You have a strong aesthetic sensibility and excel at translating abstract concepts into visuals. As an ambassador of 3D, you know how to drive creative 3D concepts within a team, and how to use modeling software to lead the creation of innovative product. You have advanced rendering skills with clean, modern aesthetics, and expertise in general compositing principles. Working closely with your colleagues, you employ your technical skills to determine aesthetic design solutions and overcome design challenges. Extremely self-motivated, you are capable of producing high-quality work on budget and on deadline. Successful candidates can model, texture, shade, light, execute look development and composite CG images or shots. • Bachelor's degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, Media Arts, or related field
• Minimum 5 years' relevant work experience
• 2 additional years' experience in lieu of a degree
• Proficiency in 3D modeling and 3D digital presentation
• Expert-level skill in 3D digital design tools (e.g. Maya, Modo, 3D Max)
• Proficient in preparing 3D data for prototyping and creating conceptual prototypes
• Experience working in fast-paced production environment, with high 3D-modeling output
• In-depth understanding of digital-creation market trends and new technologies
• Ability to continually expand knowledge of digital creation tools and processes, while staying current with innovations
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• A portfolio of work, with clear examples of personal skillset and model-making capabilities
