Position Summary:
Materials Coordinator Job Description
Reviews shipping and receiving orders and requests for movement of materials and products.
Provides Distribution & Logistics Senior Supervisor with receiving volume data to facilitate work assignments to Logistics Associates.
Maintains records of Materials Receipts and ensures timely availability upon receipt of pertinent records for sampling of production materials.
Reviews delivery receipts for incoming materials, processes the receiving in the system, and distributes to the corresponding department within 24 hours after receipt.
Delivers all receiving reports to Accounts Payable and solves any situation that should arise regarding these reports.
Prepares claims for shortage and damaged goods.
Evaluates Open Order Report and coordinates with Purchasing Department any necessary adjustment to close orders or resolve discrepancies upon receipt of materials.
Inspects physical condition of warehouse and equipment, prepares work order for repairs, and requisitions for replacement of equipment. Assists in salvage of damaged or used material.
Review custom imports documentation for accuracy, as first reviewer.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Education / Training
High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
Years of Relevant Experience
Three (3) years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills and Knowledge
Basic accounting and / or inventory control experience in a distribution environment.
Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, along with other Software such as a CMMS.
Other Abilities
Strong understanding of the equipment and maintenance supplies required in all aspects of the maintenance and facilities department.
Strong interpersonal communication, negotiation and analytical skills.
Certifications / Licenses
Forklift Certification
Explosive License
Controlled Substances License
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Must be able to utilize PPE when necessary.
Must possess the necessary hand and motor skills needed to pull and stock parts.
