Compliance Manager

As our Compliance Manager in the Legal Compliance Group at NIKE World Headquarters, you will work closely with and support NIKE’s WHQ Compliance Director in the administration and operations of NIKE’s global compliance program.  You will work on high profile and important compliance operations and projects that will have frequent interaction with members of NIKE’s legal department, HR, finance and controlling team, internal business functions, and vendors around the world.  Your main focus within the compliance function will be centered on NIKE’s anti-corruption and anti-bribery program. 

 

Your core responsibilities will include the supervision of NIKE’s vendor management team responsible for global due diligence screening, monitoring, and training of NIKE’s high risk vendors.  An additional core responsibility will include the management and administration of the Legal Compliance Group’s technology structure, projects, process implementations, data analytics, reports, and dashboards which enable efficient operations and controls for the global compliance program.

 


  • Manage compliance specialists responsible for global vendor due diligence screening, monitoring, and training.
  • Develop and implement technical solutions that enable efficient processes, functions and operations for the Legal Compliance Group.
  • Develop and maintain databases and feeds in order to conduct data analytics, reports, and dashboards for compliance program.
  • Review and periodically update vendor compliance online training courses.
  • Assist in the creation, improvement and implementation of policies, procedures, controls, and systems for the compliance program.
  • Know and champion NIKE’s code of ethics and compliance policies.
  • Perform other operations and management tasks and responsibilities as directed by the WHQ Compliance Director.

  • Minimum of 10 years working experience with 4-6 years demonstrated experience as a compliance manager within a corporate compliance department, audit, or accounting firm with supervisory responsibility of others, or equivalent experience with a government regulatory agency.
  • Working knowledge of compliance programs, solutions, processes, controls and procedures.
  • Understanding of ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or PeopleSoft preferred.
  • Experience configuring and using web based solutions, SaaS, and other technology tools that enable and enhance compliance processes and controls, including data management and reporting, communication, training, and due diligence is preferred.
  • Advance data report, pivot table, and database skills, preferably with Excel and Access.
  • Familiarity with compliance solutions such as Salesforce, SharePoint, Aravo, Concur, Lexis-Nexis and learning management systems (LMS) is a plus.
  • Work in a large multinational corporate compliance program is a plus.
  • Understanding of FCPA and UK Bribery Act is a plus.
  • BA/BS degree.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem solving, and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to manage a team and keep them focused and results oriented.
  • Ability to self-start and self-direct work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize and work simultaneously on multiple projects, and strong attention to detail.
  • Experience with case/project management and business processes/systems.
  • Adaptability necessary to work effectively in a sometimes ambiguous, changing, and matrix environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, professionalism, and collegiality.
  • Have excellent ethics and judgment.
