Starting as a Sale Representative the successful candidate will be responsible for learning PPG, our products and technologies, customers, and sales process/cycle. The position is located in the Southeast area of the United States and will a territory consisting of Eastern, Tennessee and Northern Georgia. Travel is approximately 75%.
The successful Sales Representative will continue to contribute to the US and Canada Industrial Coatings commercial team with profitable sales growth. In this Sales Representative position, s/he will have the clear objective of delivering on growth objectives and maintaining current business. S/he will also need to develop a strong consistent pipeline year-over-year. Specifically, the position will need to work closely with the segment managers, marketing, manufacturing, product management, and technical to align with the business goals in assuring that sales, profitability, expenses and working capital targets are achieved. To accomplish this, the sales representative must be able maintain and expand the current existing customer base and develop new growth opportunities. Business acumen and the ability to translate customer needs into strategy is needed.

Participate in pricing strategies, cost analysis, cost reduction projects, and other special projects

Interface with various customer personnel to promote PPG, gain approvals for various paint technologies, and position PPG to be considered for new business in the US.

Fully understand PPG’s product portfolio and benefits to ensure value selling

Know the competitor offerings (products & services) and develop counter measures; provide information to management/functional personnel regarding the competition, product performance and customer acceptance.

Provide support to technical service organization (TSSR) through approvals, line trials, coordination of meetings as needed
