As an Expert Information Architect you will be a key part of a team called Enterprise Information Management (EIM). EIM is changing the game here at Nike. EIM is working with business and IT partners to leverage data as a key strategic asset within Nike as part of the Enterprise Architecture Team under NikeTech. NikeTech brings together technology and process expertise to deliver solutions that enable Nike, Inc's businesses and brands worldwide. The EIM team brings broad experience in the practices of Information and Data Architecture, Data Quality, Master Data Management, Metadata Management, Data Stewardship, and Data Governance. As an Expert Information Architect, you'll provide thought leadership, create strategies and make recommendations on a wide variety of complex issues having a significant and strategic impact on processes and the business. You will be responsible for the development and management of Enterprise Information Architecture processes and policies, providing strategic direction on best practices for holistic Information and Data Architecture throughout Nike, Inc. We are seeking dynamic, collaborative individuals with the ability to work across multiple functions to influence better Information and Data management at Nike.
Key Deliverables: • Cultivate a strong partnership and communications with business stakeholders and stewards to ensure aligned goals and strategy. • Develop, socialize and manage adoption of a domain Information Strategy for cross-functional information. • Create and maintain an Enterprise Data Model for specific domains to ensure common understanding and use across Nike. • Create and maintain an information landscape depicting the flow, management and use of domain data across the organization. • Follow the EIM governance model to ensure that project designs are in compliance to standards. • Support SOA and other integration patterns by creating and maintaining a Canonical Model for specific domains. • Help develop a mature Information Architecture community throughout the Enterprise • Work across Nike, Inc. to emphasize and enable a shared information and data vision.
Requirements for the position include:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science or equivalent • 10 years' experience in Information Technology, with 2 additional years relevant experience accepted in lieu of a degree • Ability to maintain a sufficiently deep knowledge of business areas and technology to provide architectural leadership and direction. • Strong collaborative skills to work across multiple stakeholder groups to translate business strategies, initiatives, goals and objectives into information management proposals. • Demonstrated ability in conceptual and logical data modeling for the enterprise. • Strategic thinker to participate in planning, design and policy development related to Information and Data Architecture. • Ability to use storytelling techniques to translate technical concepts and break down complex situations into easily understandable communications - visual, written and verbal that can be understood by less technically oriented stakeholders, including senior executives • Visionary that is grounded in reality with the ability to think conceptually, suggest solutions, provide functional expertise, and bring the big picture perspective. • Ability to pragmatically balance the demands of delivery projects with the need to maintain integrity of the target architecture • Comfortable and competent in developing internal and external partnerships that leverage expertise, and expand knowledge and progress • Exceptional listening, written and verbal communication skills • Successful track record interacting with and presenting to executive level • Experience with ERwin Data Modeling Software and processes • Strong Team player • Willingness to travel up to 5% • Ability to pass a 7 year background investigation
