Job Scope
The Brokerage Intern will provide direct support to the Brokerage Team. This position reports directly to Heath Bullock – Iowa Markets Leader in Des Moines and is involved in all aspects of the leasing and general brokerage lines of business.
Principal Responsibilities
- Interact with Brokers to prepare for presentations of services to prospective clients.
- Conduct market background research
- Contribute to quarterly market statistics process, including collection, verification and final analysis of data
- Respond to all internal clients requests for data and information
- Track, maintain, and disseminate detailed data for critical indicators including lease and sales comparables, development pipelines, and active tenants in the market
- Manage contact system in CRM database for prospects and clients
- Lease documentation and file management
- Provide brokers with industry and market specific information as it relates to their clients’ businesses.
- Create and update property profiles and competitive property surveys for new listings in multiple databases
- Participate in Brokerage Team Meetings and weekly sales meetings to update colleagues on leasing activity, market information, new business generating efforts, prospects and market knowledge and trends
- Update team’s market research database and activities with JLL’s CRM system
- Effectively utilize all internal support groups and internal databases to support business
- Additional tasks as required
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing Bachelor’s Degree (Junior or Senior level)
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Demonstrated consistency in values, principles and work ethic
- Proficiency with the following software programs: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook
- Strong attention to detail, have the ability to multi-task, succeed under pressure, and effectively manage time and workload in a fast paced environment
- Motivated and self-starting with a desire to succeed and contribute to the success of a team
- A desire to work within a diverse, collaborative, and driven professional environment
- Strong interest in a career in commercial real estate
- Full-time commitment preferable
