Print & Marketing Consultant

Primary Responsibilities
  • Subject matter expert of all Copy & Print products and services and “go to” person in department for all product, service and selling knowledge
  • Consistently demonstrate current sales behaviors – welcome customer, ask questions to determine the need, provide the right solution and drive awareness & loyalty
  • Understand and promote vertical solutions based on customer need
  • Consistently cross-sell and upsell appropriately based on customer need, even during peak times, including total store solutions
  • Champion Copy & Print growth categories – SPP, Signs & Banners, Custom Print, Every Door Direct Mail, SDS
  • Champion Solution Builder adoption and Productize the Offer
  • Champion BDP enrollment and differentiating BDP customer experience
  • Responsible for front counter samples and in store signage displays showcasing our capability
  • Explain the value of the Account Manager appropriately during customer interactions
  • Manage the quoting process, including customer follow up
  • Selling
  • Greet every customer on approach
  • Qualify customer’s need
  • Thank customer & invite them back into the store
  • Follow-up on pending quotes
  • Reference Account Manager by name during transaction to customer
  • Process Account Manager facilitated orders in customer's preferred location (store/online/another store)
  • Identify vertical/industry opportunity
  • Cross-sell
  • Up-sell
  • Communicate value proposition of BDP
  • Give a sample during intake
  • Use takeaway samples during pickup
  • Suggest current promotions
  • Make top customers feel appreciated (Print & Marketing Consultant is accountable for coaching all team members on doing this well)
  • Operations
  • Complete all Print Pro curriculum other required training (ie weekly webex on cross-sell categories)
  • Execute “Done Right or Done Free” guarantee as needed
  • Review all completed orders with customers 
  • Read all Copy & Print Wiki articles
  • Capture all accurate order specifications
  • Capture all accurate customer information
  • Read weekly “Copy & Print Priorities” communication
  • Execute weekly tasks as communicated through MAP/Priorities
  • Use & Review communication log
  • Enroll qualifying customers in Rewards & BDP (Consultant on Duty is accountable for ensuring that all team members do this well)
  • Selling Lead in Store
  • Observe & coach associates on selling process
  • Participate in creation of monthly action plan to drive business
  • Communicate action plan items related to selling to other Associates
  • Test associates for knowledge of current promos
  • Ensure all POG and signage elements are to standard
  • Drive results in CopySAT, BDP Penetration, Full Serve DPT, Quote Win Rate

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic
  • Naturally inquisitive, an active listener, problem solver
  • Passion for helping customers grow their business through the products & service that Staples can provide
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
Preferred
  • Previous experience (two years) selling products or services
