Position Summary:

Job Summary
Monitor, maintain and repair all refrigeration related equipment on numerous buildings, and in central plants. Perform maintenance and repairs to the refrigeration systems for the facility to keep them operating reliably and efficiency.  Monitoring operation and maintain refrigeration, water cooling and air conditioning equipment, evaporative coolers, boilers, air compressors, heating, ventilating and hot water equipment, motors and filters.  
Job Responsibilities –
Maintenance

  • This is a “hands on” maintenance position.  Individuals are expected to demonstrate a high degree of technical expertise in HVAC and refrigeration maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting. Work will include replacing components, i.e. motors and compressors, to replacing entire units.  The applicant must be self-motivated to take on additional work while keeping critical systems in operation.
  • Applicant must have extensive experience with operating, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining all types of comfort refrigeration equipment.   Must have years of experience with package systems up to large chillers.   Must be familiar with the operation of cooling towers, pumps, exhaust fans, and space heaters and be able to make repairs.
  • Having experience with large water chillers of various types is a plus.  Individuals will be expected to help out other trades such as plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work as needed to keep the site operational or to meet the client’s needs.
  • Experience with and troubleshooting electrical power to equipment from low voltage controls to 480 volt motors is required.  Work will also require coordinating repairs with various contractors, able to respond to after-hours emergency repair calls, and scheduled weekend overtime.
Safety
  • Safety procedures must be followed at all times. Training will be provided and all site safety requirements, PPE, and permits must be adhered to.
Computer Skills
  • Extensive computer skills are required to accept and track work orders, time sheets, material purchases, safety training, email, etc.
  • Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Education
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Refrigerant Trade School completion desired
Experience
  • 4 - 8 years of experience in HVAC trade, including package units, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, air handlers, and fans
  • Demonstrated verbal/written communication skills
  • Proven record of excellent internal and external customer service
Certifications
  • Certification as a Universal Technician for CFC’s
