LEAD WAREHOUSE OPERATIONS CLERK (INVENTORY CONTROL)

Job Summary: Leads a group of associates engaged in performing substantive clerical and administrative duties relative to ensuring efficient use of all warehouse programs and applications in order to effectively monitor track and report on status of inventory, pending actions related to inventory control, etc. Accesses systems to compile data and develop reports as required. Duties and Responsibilities: As a working leader, is responsible for overseeing and passing on the supervisor's instructions and work assignments. - Ensures efficient use of Warehouse Management System (WMS) applications in a Distribution Center or warehouse. - Monitors/ maintains system integrity for work flow processes, item setup, location accuracy, etc. Takes appropriate action to ensure ongoing efficiency and effectiveness in all phases of operation. - Oversees procedures related to inventory control, receiving, and processing accuracy to ensure ongoing synchronization of inventory counts and/or system on hand inventories. - Monitors, investigates and resolves issues with all incoming receipts, put away procedure, replenishments, pick tasks, ship confirmation, etc. - Creates and utilizes reports and screens that reflect all transactions for the purpose of determining causes of delays and/or errors. - Reviews the characteristics of stock carried in warehouse storage, i.e., velocity, number of storage locations required, type if storage best suited, out of tolerance amounts of inventory, etc. Recommends appropriate actions to preclude exceeding design capability of storage area/rack type. - Executes training plans to include, but not limited to classroom training, on-the job (OTJ) training sessions, etc. - May be required to obtain Forklift certification for occasional instances requiring operation of a forklift and other material handling equipment as necessary in conjunction with performing job duties. Performs other related duties as assigned
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: One year of experience performing clerical or general office work in an automated systems distribution center and/or retail merchandising operation environment.
 
AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:  One year of experience in a Distribution Center that provided knowledge of operating procedures and inventory control methods within a computerized environment.
 
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: 1/2 year of academic study (15 credit hours) above the high school level may be substituted for each 6 months of general and specialized experience.
