The Project Development Manager's (PDM) role and responsibility is to identify, prioritize, and secure projects. It is critical that these efforts begin in the design phase stages of a project. Project development will be achieved through building effective relationships with asset owners and specifiers, advancing our specification position and ultimately overseeing the efforts to the point where the project is transitioned to the selling organization.
Additionally, proactive development of specifications and related activities with asset owners and specifiers should occur in anticipation of future projects with these firms. This will be accomplished by engaging and influencing key decision makers including multiple levels of management and procurement.
A key aspect of this position will be to provide training and guidance to Sales Representatives and customers regarding relevant coating solutions.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Must have a valid state issued driver's license.
- Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to travel overnight more than 50% of the time
Minimum Qualifications:
- 6 years business experience in the coatings industry.
- 3 years of previous business to business sales and/or marketing experience in the coatings industry
- Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency of multiple field based corrosion prevention methods.
- Demonstrated knowledge in protective coatings and their applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10 years business experience in the coatings industry.
- 5 years of previous business to business sales and/or marketing experience in the coatings industry.
- Working knowledge of testing equipment.
- Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency of multiple field based corrosion prevention methods.
- NACE or SSPC Certified or other industry certifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required to effectively communicate and influence specifiers and asset owners.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Business related field.
