Job Summary:

Performs a variety of clerical duties in connection with various types of merchandise documents such as merchandise transfers, retail price changes (RPC's) and Report of Goods Received (RGR's).

Duties and Responsibilities:

Matches, collates and/or files documents in accordance with operation requirements either numerically, by department or other designated breakdown.

- Checks quantities, prices and totals indicated in documents for agreement and accuracy. In the case of discrepancy, checks files to resolve same or contacts appropriate source to obtain clarifying information.

- Posts readily available information to appropriate merchandise documents and assigns control number, as required.

- Maintains files of merchandise documents in accordance with established filing criteria and files accordingly.

- Counts, verifies and checks for damaged merchandise on sales floor and/or in retail back-up storage areas; records amounts in Unit Reorder Record Control Books and in NEXCEN/Exchange Unit Reorder Sheets. Determines maximum stock level by repetitive use of simple arithmetic formula and indicates amount to be ordered based on stock on hand and maximum stock level allowed.

- Prepares Merchandise Transfers (MT's) for stock being transferred out to another Exchange location. Annotates, separates and distributes copies of each document to appropriate departments.

- Forwards Retail Price Change (RPC) information received from the Procurement Office of the NEXCEN to appropriate personnel to effect price changes on merchandise. Extends amounts on RPCs; separates, logs and date stamps, as required.

- Maintains control records and logs, indicating allocated dollar limits of markdown monies, noting amounts used and amounts available.

- Assists in the performance of miscellaneous duties such as timecard calculations, mail distribution, and storewide inventories.

- As required, may also perform Sales Clerk/Cashier-Checker duties at a main or location store. Operates a cash register, responsible for change fund, and completes required sales reports.

- May perform sales audit functions such as preparing or assisting in the preparation of the daily cash report.

- Works under the general supervision of a designated supervisor. Carries out regularly assigned duties independently, within the framework of established procedures. Work is subject to spot-check review for overall accuracy and compliance with instructions.

- Performs other related duties as assigned.

TRAINING REQUIREMENT:

Associate must recieve hazardous material (HazMat) training within 90 days of hire per Department of Transportation regulations GENERAL EXPERIENCE:

1 year progressively responsible clerical or office work of any kind in which the applicant has demonstrated the ability to perform satisfactorily at the grade level of the position.

AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

None required OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE 1/2 year academic study above the high school level may be substituted for each 6 months of 1 year of general.
