Truck Driver - Overnight Driver , Now Accepting Applications for Future Openings

JOB PURPOSE:  Operates a route that requires an overnight stay to complete. Drives and maintains company vehicles as assigned. Verifies accuracy of lading documents as relates to items, products and parts for shuttle to and from customer locations and Service Center. Interacts with customers for transportation and shuttle-service issues. Ensures "Product Respect" through proper handling, moving, loading, unloading and safe transportation of customer products, parts and items via shuttle system. Ensures accuracy of paperwork and proper documentation of items shuttled, route specifics, D.O.T. requirements, vehicle maintenance, and expenses associated with the successful completion of route.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •      Maintain petty cash fund and associated receipts and documentation to properly account for expenses incurred while operating shuttle route
  •      Load, arrange and unload products on and off trucks
  •      Ensure shuttle sheets are accurate and complete
  •      Perform walk-around inspections and report to initiate actions to correct noted deficiencies
  •      Maintain driver and vehicle records associated with assigned routes
  •      Ensure that assigned vehicles are maintained in a clean and safe condition
  •      Responsible for preventive maintenance on assigned vehicle and follow up to ensure needed repairss are completed sucessfully and in a timely manner
  •      Operate routes and suggest changes for improvement, where appropriate
  •      Assist in maintaining a highly organized and clean warehouse
  •      Work with stores to ensure all products is picked up weekly
  •      Manage workload so that overtime is kept to a minimum
  •      Ensure all stores are picked up regardless of equipment failure
  •      Ensure personal compliance with applicable DOT regulations
  •      Additional duties as assigned

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

     

    • Appropriate operator's license per state regulations
    • Working knowledge of DOT regulations 
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and personal presentation
    • Excellent organizational skills with ability to multi-task
    • Ability to work with minimal Supervision
