Body Module Software Engineer

Position Summary:

Ford is seeking to hire a person with embedded software knowledge.  The candidate will be responsible for the software in a body module.  This means that they would have a detailed knowledge of the functional specification, conduct design review, help resolve vehicle/bread board issues 3+ years of engineering work experience and an understanding of embedded hardware and software design.  

Responsibilities include:
 
 

  • Provide project management and technical leadership to the controls and electronics team.  Scope projects and identify resource requirements.  Developing/reviewing project work plans.
  • Project management interfacing and working closely with the suppliers
  • Translate product requirements into control system specifications
  • Resolve issues and/or ambiguities found in specifications during the vehicle development cycle
  • Work with the FSS software team explaining software requirements.
  • Conduct software design review with Suppliers
  • Support vehicle launch
  • Generate functional specifications
 
Minimum Requirements:
 
  • Bachelors in Engineering or Computer science
  • 3+years of embedded hardware and software design
 
Preferred Qualifications:

 
  • 5+ years of engineering work experience
  • 2+ years Project Management experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office Products
  • Working knowledge of Matlab/Simulink
  • Embedded software experience in working with, and / or for, an Electronic Control Manufacturer or an OEM
