Senior Accountant

Roles and Responsibilities

·         Recording monthly journal entries for cost of sales, sales, inventory shrink and accruals

·         Prepare and maintain reconciliations for various accounts

·         Assist with monthly management reporting and analysis

·         Perform shrink analysis and reporting for store physical inventories

·         Assist with analysis of actual results and trends compared to forecast/budget

·         Back-up for other retail accounting processes

·         Complete special projects as needed.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

·         Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.

·         2-4 years of previous accounting experience, strong exposure to inventory cost accounting and analysis preferred.

·         CPA or eligible to sit for CPA preferred.

Preferred Skills

·         Experience working with large accounting systems preferred (i.e. Lawson, Oracle)

·         Detail oriented and must be comfortable analyzing large volumes of data.

·         Demonstrated research and problem solving skills

·         Demonstrated knowledge of advanced Microsoft Excel skills a must

·         Self- motivated, take ownership of duties and works well with little supervision

Physical and Environmental Requirements

• Must be able to sit at a computer or desk for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to use hands/arms to operate keyboard, telephone and for repetitive motion activities.
• Must be able to lift objects up to 25 lbs. with or without assistance.
• Must be able to communicate using speech, sight, and sound with or without assistive device.

Must be able to stand, walk, stoop or crouch while performing daily activities of the job.
