Training Coordinator

Books-A-Million - Birmingham, AL

Performs the functions of instructional designer of content through e-learning and print media in BAM University. Coordinates and presents learning content through training meetings and in-store visits.

 

Role and Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Manager of Training and Development provides training support to associates.

  • Maintains the integrity of learning resources, including e-learning content, training plans, and training manuals, for the field and home office.
  • Develops new content for learning resources as directed or as need indicates.
  • Assists in the coordination and execution of training sessions for field and home office associates throughout the year.
  • Maintains weekly training reports (BAM and 2NC).
  • Serve as a BAM University Site Administrator.
  • Performs other tasks as directed.

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development or similar field preferred.
  • At least one year’s related experience preferred.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
  • Ability to develop content for and participate in presentations.
  • Basic facilitation skills for conducting meetings.
  • Contributor to the creative process of learning content and resources.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to positively affect adult learners at all levels of the education spectrum.
  • Willingness to travel at least 25% of the time to all field locations.
  • Willingness to work extended hours or alternative schedules based on training needs.

 

Physical and Environmental Requirements

  • Must be able to sit at a computer or desk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to use hands/arms to operate keyboard, telephone and for repetitive motion activities.
  • Must be able to lift objects up to 25 lbs. with or without assistance.
  • Must be able to communicate using speech, sight, and sound with or without assistive device.

Must be able to stand, walk, stoop or crouch during teaching presentations or while performing daily activities of the job.
