The Electrical Systems Engineer is responsible for the vehicles system integration and interface of electrical subsystems, modules and components.  The Systems Engineer is the lead for applying the fusing, grounding and power strategies to specific vehicle programs and completing system compatibility reviews.  The engineer is also the primary contact for vehicle electrical trouble-shooting and diagnostics during vehicle testing and builds.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Lead resolution of design and manufacturing issues at prototype and pre-production events
  • Lead trade off analysis of features to meet cost, weight, and energy management target
  • Ensure vehicle bench marking data is fully considered for electrical system definition
  • Lead selection of electrical architecture and feature partitioning as it applies to a particular vehicle
  • Create network communication and power supply requirements in early program development
  • Lead functional integration of all electrical features on a vehicle program
  • Ensure electrical system quality history issues and FMEA items are addressed in new design
  • Lead development of vehicle-specific electrical schematics
  • Develop module-based network topology
  • Develop bridging part plan for prototype builds
  • Manage CAE and analytical test plan for the electrical system to completion Lead compatibility reviews to verify all module and wiring interfaces
  • Lead technical design reviews at engineering milestones
  • Lead AVBOM and Change Control processes
  • Lead the sourcing process and associated CPA agreements to completion
  • Administer electrical systems PV plan at pre production builds and lead resolution of open issues
  • Support all in-plant build events as required
  • Support development of the in-plant end-of-line configuration files and support pre-build verification
  • Ability to communicate and interact with others
  • Conduct training of in-plant repairman and operators Review/sign off service documentation
 
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science
  • 1+ years of experience in systems engineering and product development
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering,  Computer Science
  • 3+ years’ of experience in systems engineering
  • 3+ years’ of experience in product development experience
  • Strong Automotive Systems level and Module Design experience; from design of the system board to the introduction of additional add on components for various vehicle features
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem resolution skill and experience with both automotive systems and diagnostic systems and software
  • Proficient in using electrical system-related vehicle diagnostic tools & equipment
  • Excellent English skills (Oral, reading, writing and listening)
