Within PPG’s Industrial Coatings business unit and located in Oak Creek, Wisconsin the Export Services Supervisor will oversee export services and compliance United States and Canada (USCA).  S/he is primarily responsible for outbound and inbound forecasts, accuracy improvements, and proper control and reduction of the transportation and distribution costs with special focus on root cause analysis of air shipments using the Management Authorization Process.  S/he will also participate in the S&OP review process by leading the monthly demand review process for outbound and inbound materials/products.  In this role s/he will also directly manage a team of four and will be required to provide leadership, coaching and mentorship to the team.
 
The Export Services Supervisor will also ensure that invoicing and order close-out activities are completed in compliance with Finance and Oracle requirements.   S/he will work closely with the General Supply Management Group and PPG approved Freight Forwarder(s) to drive down cost and lead time.  
 
S/he shares also responsibility on driving service improvement processes, managing the severe and the repetitive issues, and providing complete view on all relevant KPI’s. Key metrics will be Lead Time Confirmation, OTIF, Forecast Accuracy, and Profit Plan development.
 
Main accountabilities:
 
  • Participate in S&OP calls to stay abreast of region objectives and/or updates including on-time delivery, performance and key metrics.
  • Responsible for Corrective Action Incident Reporting and appropriately addressing concerns with corrective action and process improvement.
  • Working with business segment global strategy and customer base, determine appropriate levels of service required by the Export Customer Service group. With understanding of scope of export business support, align team members equitably to meet requirements and maintain high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Insure export team receives training and tools in order to perform operationally in an ever changing systems environment – order management, pricing and product availability, transportation planning and final commercial/export compliant invoicing. 
  • Work closely with the plant supply chain teams to understand capability and constraints and translate that information to standard manufacturing lead times by production/fulfillment site and/or product.
  • Based on inputs from the export team, customers and business segment work closely with corporate transportation management to maximize supply chain efficiency in terms of freight and inventory costs and on time deliveries.
  • Understand multi-modal options in order to facilitate rapid response as required.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • At least six (6) years of supervision experience in a customer service, logistics or export compliance capacity
 
Preferred Requirements (in addition to Minimum Requirements)
  • Experience in export compliance and export shipment requirements
  • Experience with Supply Chain principles
