Position Summary:

Position Duties:
 

  • Lead electrical distribution design for forward model programs
  • Manage 3D routing and CAD package layout
  • Manage logical and physical schematic development and sign-off physical schematics
  • Create and maintain program specific engineering foundation documents
  • Lead Technical Design Reviews
  • Support electrical / electronic circuit CAE analysis
  • Utilize best design for manufacturing, assembly, and failure mode avoidance practices
  • Direct manufacturing print development, sign-off, and release
  • Create and maintain harness family complexity and keep commonality of designs across multiple programs and platforms
  • Manage component and harness part delivery
  • Review pre-production vehicles for potential campaign items and assess warranty impact
  • Lead electrical system problem resolution
  • Responsible to review warranty information and develop improvement actions
  • Support cost analysis reviews
  • Assign and define circuit options including:
    • Define harness to harness in-line connector pinouts and terminal sizing
    • Define fuse size and wire size and type
    • Configure system power and ground
  • Lead electrical system compatibility reviews and sign-off wire harness prints
  • Manage logical design data via Metaphase and Team Center Engineering
    • Ability to travel to suppliers or assembly facility occasionally (up to 5% of job).
Minimum Requirements:
  • BS Engineering
  • 1+ years of experience with vehicle electrical system or functional knowledge of vehicle wiring system.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters or higher in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 2 plus years wiring or electrical systems experience.
  • Working knowledge of vehicle development process (GPDS), change control process (WERS), and vehicle launch experience.
