Active Safety Engineer

Position Summary:

Position Description:   Responsible for the Design and Release and Program Application work for Active Safety Radar and Camera systems.

Position Responsibilities

  • Lead the Electrical Active Safety D&R and Application work on various Programs
  • Co-Lead the packaging of the Active Safety radar and camera on Programs
  • Lead the Program Management with the Full Service Supplier Partners
  • Ensure Programs’ deliverables are met on time and with the highest quality.  This includes the following: AVBOM, Integrator, Packaging/Digital Buck, DPA Checks, WERS, eFDVS, Subsystem/Supplier workplans, DVP&R, Engineering Sign-off, etc.
  • Develop workplans and lead resolution of Active Safety implementation and validation related issues.
  • Lead Design Validation and Production Validation on Programs
  • Support prototype vehicle builds and production vehicle launches 

 
Position Requirements:
  • BSEE or BSME  (or Computer, Aerospace or Control Systems)
  • 1+ years experience with the design & development of automotive electrical features
  • 1+ years CAD packaging experience and/or experience in CATIA and Team Center
  • 1+years experience  with Automotive Component or Subsystem Product Development tools and processes.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with Ford Product Development tools or equivalent: eFDVS, WERS, Integrator, AIMS, AVBOM, etc.MSEE or advanced degree preferred
  • Highly motivated, extremely proactive, substantial attention to detail
  • Excellent team skills
  • Ability to quickly learn the job (with mentoring from others), and then be able to self-lead the D&R Application work for Active Safety Radar/Camera systems on Programs
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interface with many activities and champion issue resolution to get the job done
  • Experience in radar or camera based systems desired
