Business Analyst, Connected Vehicle Systems Engineering and Operations

Position Summary:

The Connected Vehicle and Services organization is a team dedicated to specifying, architect, designing, implementing, and operating an End to End Ecosystem focused on delivering Telematics and Infotainment Services to Ford and Lincoln vehicles on a global basis. 

The team is very diverse - representing capability in feature/service definition, systems engineering, End to End Architecture Design and Deployment, and Ongoing System Operations and Support.  With the rapid growth of these services we are continually looking for individuals who understand and have a strong desire to be part of a very dynamic ‘connected ecosystem’ comprising brought-in mobile devices, in-vehicle hardware and networks, short range and long range wireless networks, and back office service delivery systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Write requirements to drive efficiency across connected vehicle features and applications, including the following deliverables:
  • Functional Business Requirements
  • Nonfunctional requirements
  • Business, application and infrastructure monitors
  • Key Performance Indicators
  • Interface with other Connected Vehicle Feature Owners to define support processes for upcoming products and features.
  • Translate business requirements and technical design into operational requirements through collaboration with architects and System design analysts.
  • Investigate key performance metrics to identify trends and proactively identify opportunities to improve success rates and/or optimize transaction timing for existing features
  • Analyze production issues and work with the appropriate suppliers or support organizations to identify root cause and deploy long term corrective measures.
  • Participate in design reviews and proactively escalates issues for resolution while understanding the major impacts to technical and business-related areas
  • Work on multiple projects concurrently and shift priorities as required to meet business requirements and timelines.
  • Work in a collaborative team environment and ability to work under aggressive timelines and sporadic heavy workloads
  • Be a self-learner of newer concepts and application development best practices and trends.
  • Interface with many teams cross-functionally, and operate globally with other countries and across time-zones
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills to communicate with support personnel, application development personnel, partners and management.
  • Travel on a monthly basis to support business meetings with suppliers
 
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • 3+ years prior experience leading a project from conception to launch including effective management of software suppliers, testing and troubleshooting procedures, and leadership in the resolution of issues.
  • 1+ year experience in Systems Engineering Processes and Methodologies
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ years of experience in the area of managing the day-to-day operations of a 24x7 application or ecosystem.
  • Experience with IoT (Internet of things), vehicle telematics, cellular communications, telematics service providers, in-vehicle connectivity features implementations, cloud architecture, data analytics, embedded telecommunication devices.
  • Experience in agile software development methods including Scrum & Kanban
