Powertrain Software Quality Process Engineer

Position Summary:

Ford Power train Controls organization is seeking software quality process engineer with automotive embedded software development experience.  This position supports the internal software teams as well as suppliers to ensure software quality throughout the life cycle.    This position is to ensure that the development processes are full compliance with both internal and external standards.   

Responsibilities:

  • Define and maintain software quality process for Powertrain Controls
  • Create and publish quality metrics
  • Support internal audits of software quality operating system structure  (North America / Europe)
  • Support cross-functional teams / meetings driving software best practices
  • Support management reviews with updated software quality process road maps
  • Support development of software issue prevent recurrence plans and process improvement actions; track agreed work plans
  • Document / track results and assignments from software quality deliverable audits
  • Consolidate / analyze existing software quality data for global core teams; implement process to update & publish
  • Support development of software quality process and delivery performance metrics and dashboard / health chart(s)
  • Support development and delivery of training to support quality processes
  • Participate in global process / tool improvement work streams as required
  • Supports global team
 
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
  • 7+ years of experience in embedded software development or software quality
  • 1+ years of experience with C programming language
  • 1+ years of Automotive SPICE or CMMI Level 3 experience
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
  • Experience in software process improvement
  • Experience in Agile methodologies
  • Knowledge in quality assurance processes and methods.
  • Experience with Provisional Automotive SPICE assessor
  • Experience in quality audits
  • Ability to perform periodic lessons learn workshop
  • Knowledgeable in statistical analysis
