Embedded Modem Software Feature Modeling Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the requirements analysis / capture of Embedded Modem module implemented features utilizing  model based design to support overall product software development
  • Application of software process and requirements modeling tools
  • Identify Embedded Modem feature development requirements and performance issues through model based design
  • Continuously improve Embedded Modem software tools and verification process by enhancing software specific feature requirements documentation
  • Enhance capability of supplier(s) to deliver embedded software
  • Foster team wide activities in learning and adopting new modeling tool(s) / implementation to support robust engineering and validation processes
  • Identify and resolve software design issues and / or ambiguities found in feature specifications during the software development cycle
  • Support resolution of engineering issues with cross-functional and supplier teams
 
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science
  • 3+ years of embedded hardware and software design experience
  • 2+ years of experience with industry standard software tools (e.g., UML, SysML, Enterprise Architect, Rhapsody, Stateflow, Matlab, etc.)
  • 1+ years of experience developing or verifying production embedded software, preferably in Connectivity / Infotainment domain
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science
  • 3+ years embedded software design & development experience in Automotive Infotainment systems with an Automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier
  • Experience in automotive applications and applicable interfaces such as vehicle CAN network communication bus and vehicle diagnostics
  • Understanding of embedded module architecture: micontrollers Flash / RAM, device drivers, etc.
  • Independent worker and capable of delivering multiple project commitments concurrently
  • Broad interpersonal skills allowing a wide range of interface with vehicle product development / subsystems engineers, cross-functional teams, and suppliers
