Position Description:
Ford Motor Company’s Global Data, Insight & Analytics (GDI&A) organization is looking for a Compliance Simulation Analyst that can understand, explain, run, and even modify simulation models used in support of fuel economy and greenhouse gas emissions intensity calculations. These models are helpful in understanding the costs and benefits of various technologies for fuel efficiency.  The team member will play an important role in GDI&A’s support of product and technology strategy activities at Ford.

Minimum Requirements:
 

  • Master’s Degree in Science field such as (mechanical or automotive) engineering, applied physics, operations research in transportation, applied mathematics, or quantitative economics.
  • 2 + years of expertise in the application of engineering and science to energy and/or transportation policy questions.
  • 2+ years of experience in mathematical programming, data mining, and/or statistical analysis.
  • 2+ years of experience in optimization (problems, methods, and software), statistics (basic concepts, regression models, discrete choice models), energy/engineering economics (preferred). 
  • 2 + years of experience coding C, C++, C#, and Java
Preferred Requirements:
  • PH.D in a science-related field such as (mechanical or automotive) engineering, applied physics, operations research in transportation, and possibly applied mathematics or quantitative economics with the right application experience.
  • Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Well-organized, independent and ready to work with minimal supervision.
  • Comfortable working in an environment where problems are not always well-defined. 
  • Inquisitive, proactive, and interested in learning new tools and techniques.
