Product Engineering Designer–Automation Specialist, Entry Level

Position Summary:

Use CATIA V5, TeamCenter Engineering, Excel, and other digital tools to develop CAD / Design Automation Templates and accelerate the development time, improve quality and drive consistency of designing automotive parts and assemblies by systematically eliminating repetitive tasks and aligning design standards / requirements to models.

Collaborate with Global PD Centers to develop next generation Automotive CAD Automation projects through the application of: 

• CATIA V5 Knowledgeware
• Programming in VBA for CATIA
• Programming in VBA for Excel
• PLM / CAD Tool Integration
• Strategize and make recommendations on how to bridge process gaps through the use of digital tools
• Evaluate prototype and production build issues, and architect digital solutions to prevent re-occurrence
• Develop digital tools that help systematically align product definition to design rules, requirements and corporate standards
• Evaluate operational models in methods and process for opportunity in improvements

Use CATIA and Team Center to develop functionally compliant, manufacturing feasible and compatible parts and assemblies.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science Mechanical or Electrical Engineer
• 1 or more Courses Passed in CAD or PLM tools
• Minimum GPA - 3.0

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience in self-teaching CAD tool functionality through experimentation 
• A keen interest in utilizing CAD tools to their greatest potential
• Application of CATIA V5 GSD / Part Design / Asy Design    
• Application of CATIA Knowledgeware
• Experience with Programming for CATIA / Excel
• Experience in programming for Automation of a digital tool, ideally a CAD or PLM tool
• Experience developing industry project CAD / PLM solution
• Engineering Masters Preferred
