The Software Engineer, Audio Design & Release is responsible for the software design in the Audio Head Unit and Audio Amplifier modules implemented in multiple vehicle applications globally.
Other responsibilities include:
Provide software development project management and technical leadership to the Audio team
Software project management interfacing and working closely with supplier(s)
Lead conducting software specific technical design reviews with suppliers
Identify and resolve software design issues and / or ambiguities found in feature specifications during the software development cycle
Work with the supplier software team to explain cascaded automotive specific software development requirements
Understand subsystem interfaces to identify possible improvements and trade-offs
Provide guidance and input for AHU and amplifier design verification plans working with requirements engineering teams and feature owners
Support resolution of vehicle launch issues with cross-functional and supplier teams
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Engineering, or Computer Science
3+ years of embedded hardware and software design experience
2+ years’ experience developing or verifying production embedded software, preferably in Connectivity / Infotainment domain
1+ years of proficiency in root cause analysis and authoring well documented issue tickets and reports
Preferred Qualifications:
Independent worker and capable of delivering multiple project commitments concurrently
Should have strong program management and supplier management capabilities, as well as the ability to work as part of a project team
Strong customer focus and excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Broad interpersonal skills allowing a wide range of interface with vehicle product development / subsystems engineers, cross-functional teams, and suppliers
5+ years embedded software design, development, & validation experience in Automotive Infotainment systems with an Automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier
2+ years’ experience with software architecture and standards (e.g., AUTOSAR, GENIVI, etc.) and with Automotive SPICE, Capability Maturity Model (CMM), or other software development process models
Experience in automotive applications and applicable interfaces such as vehicle CAN network communication bus and vehicle diagnostics
Understanding of audio head unit and/ or amplifier architecture: microcontrollers, Flash / RAM, device drivers, etc.
