Engineering Specialist - Heat Treat

Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitor carburizing, carbonitriding, and induction hardening processes to ensure compliance specification requirements, HTX-1, and HTX-12 procedures
  • Adjust heat treatment equipment to maintain targeted range
  • Control and disposition of off-standard stock.
  • Statistical correlation of heat treatment data
 
Metallography

 
  • Metallographic evaluation of all operating furnaces and induction hardeners which will include cutting, mounting, polishing and etching of samples.
  • Broad knowledge and in-depth expertise in Rockwell surface hardness, micro hardness checks, microstructure evaluation, macro and microphotographs.
  • Responsibility for maintenance, housekeeping, and ordering of supplies for the metallographic laboratory.
Advise and instruct personnel in various heat treating techniques, and direct repair of malfunction equipment.
 
Job Requirements:

Basic Qualifications: 

 
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 7+ years’ experience in manufacturing engineering environment
  • 7+ years working with heat treat furnaces and or induction power supply   
  • 1+ years’ experience Microsoft Office software
Preferred Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering
  • Bachelor Degree in Material Science or Metallurgy
  • Successful candidate should be able to demonstrate leadership in One FORD (leadership) behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills
