Position Summary:

Job Title:  Electric Machine Core Electrical Engineer – Hybrid Vehicle Team 

Position Overview/Description:  
As a member of the Hybrid Vehicle Team, you will designs and analyzes electric machines suitable for HEV or BEV architecture. You will develop methods to improve electric machine performance through improved materials, modeling methods, and design algorithms. You will develop test plans and process data from electric machine testing.
Responsibilities:   

• Develops methods to improve electric machine performance through improved materials, modeling methods, and design algorithms
• Develops test plans and processes data from electric machine testing
• Works with mechanical design engineers to finalize electric machine design
• Works with CAD designers to develop 3D models and prints for all components
• Works with transmission design team to integrate machines into transmissions
• Evaluates electric machines in various stages: prototype, pre-production, production

Job Requirements:
 
Basic Qualifications:

• M.S.in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Electric Machine design and analysis
• 2+ years of electromagnetic analysis experience with good working knowledge of CAE tools, such as Maxwell, JMAG, or similar type of electromagnetic analysis software
• 2+ years of experience designing electric machine for operation using inverter / drive applications

Preferred Requirements:

• Ph.D.in Electrical Engineering Electric Machine design and analysis with consideration of inverter / drive and control (Space Vector Modulation)
• 5+ years of electrical machine and/or inverter / drive engineering experience
• Experience with automotive HEV and BEV applications
• Experience with software for system evaluation such as Matlab Simulink, Simplorer, etc.
• Good understanding of construction / manufacturing methods of electric machines
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks
• Excellent communication skills
