Powertrain NVH Development Engineer

Position Summary:


We are looking for an energetic Powertrain NVH development engineer to assist us in developing hardware designs and solutions that deliver best in class NVH performance.  With your inventive and analytical mind, you will improve our NVH development process for future vehicles as well as execute established NVH development process on our current programs under development.  As a team player, you will creatively impact our Powertrain Noise and Vibration organization and our key partners thought out the company thru your collaboration efforts in delivering the One Ford Vision.
 
 
 
Responsibilities:
 
 

  • Support Powertrain design and release activities with NVH design direction and testing; including interfaces and rig based testing
  • Perform hardware assessments
  • Support target setting and cascading to sub-system and component levels from vehicle and system level
  • Coordinate and perform system and component level testing
  • Perform vehicle testing for powertrain NVH related issues and provide find-and-fix support
  • Provide design support for advanced concepts
  • Support CAE/hardware correlation
  • Support checkpoint reviews and management drives @ major milestones as required
  • Produce and present all reports to management on drivetrain status to targets
  • Lead  NVH Health Chart and Metric/Methods Development
  • Support Design Rule development, quality issue resolution processes, and prevent recurrence process
 
Job Requirements:
 
 
Basic Qualifications:       
 
  • BS degree in engineering
  • 1+ years hands on experience in noise and vibration testing including data acquisition, processing, analysis, and interpretation
  • 1+ years of experience in Powertrain NVH
 
Preferred Qualifications:
 
  • MS degree in engineering
  • Strong interpersonal and technical leadership ability
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Self-starter who is capable of learning new technology
  • Strong communication skills, planning and PM skills
