Driveline Control System Engineer

Position Summary:

  
Position Overview/Description: 
This Control System Engineering position involves the design, implementation, and validation of control system features for mechanical and electrically driven all-wheel drive, all-wheel drive disconnect, torque vectoring, electronic limited slip differential and clutch-by-wire. 
Responsibilities:
 

  • Develop and capture functional requirements for driveline control system technologies with a cross-functional team
  • Create and/or maintain control feature requirements documents and calibration crib sheets/guides
  • Design control system to meet functional, regulatory, safety, and functional safety (ISO 26262) requirements
  • Implement control system design in a model based environment
  • Conduct detailed validation simulations and testing of control system models and generated code
  • Lead control system project planning and program management to meet functional, cost, quality, and timing objectives
  • Troubleshoot vehicle/driveline system functional issues; determine and validate corrective actions and preventative measures
Job Requirements:
 

Basic Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering
  • 1+ years of engineering experience
 
Preferred Qualifications:
 
  • M.S degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering or Computer Science
  • Working knowledge of modeling, simulation and testing techniques
  • Understanding of basic principles of controls engineering
  • Possess strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient in Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow
  • Working knowledge of vehicle dynamics principles and modeling programs like CarSim
  • Control theory coursework and experience with mathematical stability analysis of control systems
  • Experience with Failure Mode Avoidance techniques and/or ISO 26262 Functional Safety disciplines
