Embedded Powertrain Software Architect

Position Summary:

Position Overview/Description: 
The Embedded Powertrain Software Architect is responsible for the creation and documentation of the Powertrain software architecture design. Additionally, this position interfaces to the Vehicle Level Software Architecture as the Powertrain Domain representative.
Responsibilities:
 

  • Provide technical leadership and decision making to the Powertrain software development teams for software systems related design matters.
  • Supports the selection of appropriate design solutions.
  • Manage Powertrain Feature/Function Structure in Company Requirements Management Tool
  • Represents Powertrain Needs for Requirements Management Tool Functionality
  • Develop/Maintain Standards for Feature Functional Specifications
  • Manage Internal Powertrain Process for CAN Signal Specification Generation and Global Database approval
  • Manage Common Gas/Diesel Architecture Relate Feature Specifications
Job Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Computer Engineering or Software Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience with both the Powertrain system and software architecture design
  • 5+ years Software Systems Engineering experience
  • 5+ years of experience with 8/16/32 bit micro controllers
  • 5+ years of experience with software modeling tools (e.g. Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow); and software architectures and standards (e.g. AUTOSAR, etc.); and with Automotive SPICE, CMM, or other software development process models
  • 1+ years of experience with C programming language
  • 1+ years of experience in automotive applications and applicable interfaces such as CAN, FlexRay and LIN networks
 
 
Preferred Qualifications
 
  • Master’s Degree a plus
  • Experience in multi-core Software Architecture Design 
  • Knowledge of embedded operating systems
  • Experience with Requirements Management using tools
  • Ability to utilize both technical and leadership experience
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to meet time sensitive deadlines
  • Ability to make sound decisions and exercise good judgment pertaining to operating procedures and projects.
  • Mindset of Continuous Improvement
  • Excellent attention to detail
