This Powertrain Vehicle Controls Subsystem Engineer position involves the design and implementation of engine control software bundles (subsystems) per Ford Motor Company Software Standards. The primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:
Responsibilities:
Capture requirements for engine/vehicle function; attribute delivery, serviceability, and regulatory compliance
Assemble control system software into subsystems to meet requirements for each application
Use Ford Motor Company development environment to create vehicle control software subsystems
Document all changes using Ford process and tools
Create/update control requirements documents
Create and execute validation plans using simulation, hardware-in-the-loop and in vehicle resources
Collaborate within the subsystem feature team with representatives from hardware and calibration activities to manage the design and development of vehicle control software
Manage RAM, ROM and chronometric resource usage for each function
Release software for both gas and diesel programs
Job Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering
1+ Years of experience working in engineering or product development area
1+ years working with C-coding language and software system design
1+ years working with software configuration management tools (e.g., IBM Rational ClearCase)
Preferred Qualifications:
Master of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering or Computer Science Engineering
Working knowledge of modeling, simulation, and/or testing techniques
Proficient in Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow
Proactive attitude, leadership and interpersonal skills, work planning and data analysis skills
