Position Summary:

Position Overview/Description: 
 
This position is responsible for the development of electrical system architecture for our Ford and Lincoln vehicles.  We are looking for an electrical engineer professional that will lead project teams in the early phase of the vehicle architecture development.   We are seeking an innovator who can think outside the box to define compatible electrical systems and to solve electrical system/component compatibility issues that may arise in the development of the vehicle electrical system.
 
The location for this position will be in our Dearborn offices.
 
Responsibilities:
 

  • Evaluate electrical system engineering alternatives for various attributes, including cost, weight, package, quality, benchmarking, geometry creation & functional analysis
  • Apply various systems engineering disciplines for quantitatively assessing various alternatives, and documenting the results
  • Develop electrical system, component/mechanical package concepts, with a focus on resolving incompatibility issues by creating innovative engineering solutions
  • Interface with various cross-functional organizations in jointly identifying the prime alternative recommendation delivering the best compatible solution for quality, cost, weight and function
 
Job Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required
  • 2+ years of experience using CAD or CAE Tools
 
 
Preferred Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering
  • Proficiency in CATIA/TCE/Digital Buck
  • 3 plus years’ transportation OEM/Tier One experience in electrical systems engineering or component design and release
  • Proven ability to progress design solutions delivering best compatibility with vehicle targets
  • Self-directed, highly motivated, self-starter and skilled individual with strong demonstrated leadership and technical problem solving skills
  • Passion for engineering and product excellence
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills
