Job Title: Climate-Electronic Controls and Calibration Engineer-Product Development-Entry Level

Position Overview/Description:


There is an opportunity for a Product Development Engineer to work in Climate Control Systems Engineering within the Body Interior Organization leading the Dual Zone Automatic Temperature Control (DATC) Software (SW) / Hardware (HW) System Integration in our vehicles.

Responsibilities: 
 

  • Lead Investigation / Resolution of DATC feature integration issues - Document/incorporate lessons learned
  • Work with DATC suppliers and core SW team to define and manage DATC strategy and calibrations
  • Support core DATC new strategy development
  • Coordinate Vehicle DATC testing to support Program Timing Milestones
  • Plan and Execute Vehicle Wind Tunnel testing and Supplier data analysis
  • Plan and Execute Vehicle Road Trip testing
  • Direct Supplier data analysis, assessments and report card report out
  • Direct Controls Engineer and Supplier team on changes needed in DATC strategy or calibration
  • Understand and develop calibration to achieve Best in Class comfort and minimize Fuel Economy impact
  • Ensure all the climate control comfort strategies are implemented in programs as applicable
  • Willingness to learn climate system interactions with Hybrid vehicles

Minimum Requirements 
 

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering field of study
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher
  • 1+ years of automotive or engineering experience
 
Preferred Qualifications:  
 
  • Understanding of interactions with hybrid vehicle systems preferred
  • Hands on Calibration Development and Implementation into a production vehicle
  • Hybrid Calibration Experience is preferred
  • Basic knowledge of Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems preferred 
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to balance objectives and resolve conflicts
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good cross functional communication skills
  • Ability to work on self-directed teams
