Job Title: Interior Trim/Body Interior Engineer-Product Development-Entry Level
 
Position Overview/Description:
 
There is an opportunity for a Product Development Engineer to work in the Engineering team for Body Interior parts and systems.


Responsibilities:

• Design and Release of Interior Trim components (Carpet, Insulators, Package Tray, Door Trim, Hard Trim, Pillar Trim, Qtr Trim, I/P and Console Trim Components
• Interact with vehicle attribute teams through target setting and feasibility
• Lead development and execution of product verification plans, engineering sign-off
• Lead CAD and Build to Print Suppliers through design and execution
• Ensure system meets all FMVSS (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard) and Ford Corporate requirements
• Lead and/or support vehicle launch activities
• Develop engineering standards for component design

Minimum Requirements:  
 

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering field of study
• Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher
• 1+ years of automotive or engineering experience

 
Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in interior trim design and release
• Excellent communication skills (verbal/written)
• Experience working with Ford internal systems (WERS and AIMS)
• Have worked with vehicle attribute teams or in a team setting
• Training in problem solving disciplines (Six Sigma)
• Protoype build and execution experience
• Experience working with CAD (Computer Aided Design)
• Ability to read and interpret automotive drawing
